Why are all the tips of the leaves of my houseplants dying?

My plants leaf tips are all brown and dried up - all of my plants, many different types and sizes. I'm wondering if it's something to do with the environment they're in.
It's a dry climate here, and they get the right amount of water.
Anybody have any ideas?
