david asked:
Moving to Norfolk - need some help finding a good house
Thursday, April 12, 2007
Just wondering if anyone knows of some good neighborhoods in the Norfolk area to live? We're relocating there in a few months and need to know of some good neighborhoods to purchase a home. We're looking in the $600,000 range.
Thanks!

Are you sure you want to live in Norfolk? If you're looking in the $600k range, you probably won't be very safe in Norfolk. I mean, what do you expect to get for that amount? This isn't DC. In Norfolk, you can get a 4 bedroom, 2 or 3 bath home for half that amount in a nice neighborhood. In Virginia Beach the prices are a little higher and there are more high end neighborhoods but you still don't have to spend that much unless you want a 4500 sq ft house on the water.

Hi, you can check out Colonial Place. This is a historic neighborhood, beautiful older homes, many have been remolded. It's close to everything. Check out: http://www.cprv.org
Good luck.

Do you have to move to norfolk or is the va beach/area pembroke area too far...we just moved into a new construction neigborhood called Nichols Park of Lexington...the drive would only be about 20min.to downtown norfolk...if you would like to see the models feel free to check out the website...we have been very happy here so far...it's a great community...www.cheshomes.com....see townhomes...then lexington and then nichols park....they are considered townhomes but they do not feel it...no strings attatched just a great community...good luck with your move...Traci
