Cheryl's Cookies buttercream icing recipe

Friday, February 23, 2007

Does anyone have a buttercream icing/frosting recipe that tastes just like the one Cheryl's Cookies uses on their sugar cookies? I love those cookies but they're sooooo expensive, I'd like to try to make my own. Thanks

Jason-You can order and request a catalog at www.cherylscookies.com. They are very very good but also quite expensive. They usually have some free shipping deals.

I also found the Cheryl's Cookie Recipe: 2 each eggs 1 cup butter or margarine 1 cup sugar 1 cup brown sugar 3 cups flour all-purpose 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup chocolate chips 1/2 cup walnuts chopped Directions: Beat first 5 ingredients, then stir by hand the soda, powder and flour. When it turns to dough, add the nuts and chips. Put a tablespoonful of dough onto a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 8-12 minutes. As an experiment, you can try leaving out a little bit of margarine and replacing it with peanut butter, or replacing a little of the flour (about a cup) with oatmeal. Notes: If the dough is sticky, add a little flour or oatmeal until it's easier to handle. If it's too "wet" the cookies will turn out crunchy and flat.

Give this a try: 1/2 cup butter 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/2 cup butter flavor Crisco 1/4 cup milk 1/8 teaspoon salt 5 cups confectioners sugar In a large bowl, cream butter and shortening until fluffy and light. Add vanilla, confectioners sugar, salt and milk. Beat well.
