I need to buy my daughter a computer for her college education. I was wondering what the best type of computer would be for her. Mac or PC, laptop or desktop. Those kinds of things. If anyone has any personal experiences with their children going to school, could you please help me decide?

Most definitely a laptop and not a Mac. Go to www.clarkhoward.com for all the comparisons. Laptops are very inexpensive now and you can build them to your specs.

A laptop would probably be a better choice. Some of the newer laptops do come with some pretty powerful specs. You can always find deals on the Dell laptops, and after some careful configuration, it can get more powerful than some desktops.
